  • Preamble:

    In view of the directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court dated 8.05.2009 and in consideration of the determination of the Central Government and the University Grants Commission to prohibit, prevent and eliminate the scourge of ragging.

    Objective:

    To eliminate ragging in all its forms from universities, deemed universities and other higher educational institutions in the country by prohibiting it under these Regulations, preventing its occurrence and punishing those who indulge in ragging as provided for in these Regulations and the appropriate law in force.

    Roles and Responsibilities
    • 1.Develop and assess policies and protocols designed to deter and manage ragging occurrences on campus.
    • 2.Ensure comprehensive dissemination of anti-ragging guidelines to students, faculty, and staff members.
    • 3.Conduct orientation sessions for newcomers to educate them on the detrimental effects of ragging.
    • 4.Establish confidential channels for reporting ragging incidents, enabling both victims and witnesses to come forward without apprehension of reprisal.
    • 5.Expediently probe documented cases of ragging to ascertain the facts and initiate suitable measures.
    • 6.Administer disciplinary measures against individuals identified as perpetrators or accomplices in ragging incidents.
    • 7.Extend counselling and support services to ragging victims to assist them in managing the emotional and psychological aftermath.
    • 8.Instigate feedback systems to consistently enhance the efficacy of anti-ragging strategies.
    • 9.Collaborate with student groups, societies, and clubs to foster an ethos of mutual esteem and deter ragging.
    • 10.Arrange seminars for students to enlighten them about the repercussions of ragging and the significance of upholding a harmonious and respectful campus atmosphere.
    • 11.Preserve detailed records of documented ragging cases, subsequent investigations, and remedial actions taken.
    • 12.Deploy initiatives to preclude ragging incidents, encompassing mentorship schemes, collaborative activities, and community engagement programs.
    • 13.Partner with external entities, NGOs, and counselling institutions to augment support and resources for anti-ragging endeavours.

    Roles and Responsibilities:
    1.Install and showcase anti-ragging posters, banners, and notifications throughout the college premises.
    2.Routinely monitor the college grounds, particularly in zones where ragging incidents are anticipated.
    3.Set up a helpline or specific contact avenue dedicated to reporting ragging occurrences.
    4.Coordinate with college management, faculty members, and pertinent authorities to foster a cohesive and efficient strategy against ragging.
    5.Offer counseling sessions to both victims and instigators of ragging to tackle the root causes.
    6.Collaborate intimately with student committees and representatives to foster a united front against ragging.
    7.Track the status of reported incidents and ensure that requisite disciplinary measures are enforced.
    8.Engage with victims through follow-ups to extend support and ascertain their overall well-being.
